Carolinas MTOA
This site is sponsored by the Carolinas (SC & NC) Section of the Marine Trawler Owners Association (MTOA). As a part of the Southern Operations Region of the MTOA, we exist primarily to promote the social interests of boaters in North Carolina and South Carolina and to provide the opportunity for comfortable social interaction through the advocacy of programs that promote knowledgable and safe boating practices, and which educate the membership in the skills of good seamanship.
In addition to this area homepage, there exists a listserv for all MTOA members. This listserv is designed to provide an easy way to communicate with any other MTOA member in the area... you can find others to travel on the water with, or ask maintenance and service questions, or ask others about new boat products. Go to www.mtoa.net Look to the left and click on the "Listserv" button !

Upcoming Events
February 29- for all MTOA area members or newcomers!!! Planning session for the spring, summer and fall cruises !!! a lunch meeting at 11:30 AM at the Sheraton Hotel located at 100 Middle St. and has transient dockage should you want to come by boat.
If you can attend, please email (see below) indicating the number attending so we can make reservations. The Sheraton has graciously offered us a separate room in the new section of the hotel at no extra charge. We will email those who are coming with final details.
We chose New Bern for the initial meeting because of its central location between the Virginia and the South Carolina border. There were several who indicated a willingness to drive a reasonable distance for a lunch gathering.
We look forward to the opportunity of meeting new friends and visiting with old friends. Bernie and Nancy Teubert have volunteered to help with this group. If the consensus is that the group would work better divided into Northern NC and Southern NC, they will coordinate the Northern group and we will work with the Southern NC members.
Think about a summer cruise – dates, type of cruise such as a single location or one with several locations and bring your ideas to our lunch. We look forward to seeing you in New Bern.
